Responsibilities

  • Operate store equipment and handle ingredients.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery areas to storage, work areas, and walk-in coolers.
  • Prepare pizza and other menu items.
  • Receive and process telephone orders accurately.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility daily.
  • Process orders both over the phone and in person.
  • Handle monetary transactions and make correct change.
  • Use computer systems or touch screens to enter orders.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Ability to comprehend and give clear written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication skills for customer and co-worker interactions.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for handling transactions.
  • Motor coordination for rapid, precise movements (e.g., typing, handling tools).

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to varying weather conditions when performing outside tasks (e.g., taking out trash).
  • In-store temperatures range from 36°F in coolers to 90°F+ in work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
  • Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped spaces (e.g., walk-in cooler).
  • Hot surfaces/tools (ovens up to 500°F or higher) and sharp edges/moving mechanical parts.
  • Sensory requirements: clear speech/hearing for phone orders, near/mid-range vision, depth perception, and ability to differentiate hot/cold surfaces.
  • Ability to work under stress, multitask, and meet quality control standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Most tasks performed while standing on ceramic tile/linoleum surfaces.
  • Walking: Short distances for brief durations.
  • Sitting: Paperwork completed at a desk or table.
  • Lifting: Unload deliveries (up to 50 lbs) using a hand truck; stack cases onto shelves up to 72" high.
  • Carrying: Large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), or trays of dough (12 lbs per tray).
  • Pushing/Pulling: Move dollies with stacked trays (force up to 7.5 lbs).
  • Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs/ladder for maintenance or sign changes.
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at pizza assembly station (30–45 seconds at a time, repeated daily).
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
  • Reaching: Continuously in all directions (up, down, forward) for tasks like stocking, cleaning, or answering phones.
  • Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination essential; frequent use of hands for dough shaping, box assembly, and tool handling (e.g., pizza peel, cutter).

  • Pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment.
  • Pizza cutter, pizza peel, and other kitchen tools.
