This position is located at the Marina/Rec Lodging Office, within the Community Recreation Division of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department at Naval Support Activity Panama City, FL.
About the role
This is a non-supervisory position where the incumbent will assist in leading subordinates, perform customer service and accounting, and maintain record keeping and inventory.
Responsibilities
- Assists supervisor by leading and directing at least three (3) subordinate Recreation Aids and Recreation Assistants, answering questions, passing on instructions, resolving problems which arise, training new employees, and ensuring the smooth flow of operations.
- Performs a full range of services such as assisting customers, taking special orders, providing layaway services, following up on delinquent payments, making refunds and adjustments, resolving routine complaints, and any other customer service-related duties or transactions.
- Maintains a complete and systematic set of records relating to customer service transactions.
- Checks to ensure the periodic procurement of supplies and equipment is processed as required for an efficient operation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
Requirements
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation.
- Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
- Must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
- May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
- A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
- Must have salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Position is a non-critical, sensitive position requiring access to IT II system and/or access to PII. An access National Agency Check investigation (ANACI) is required via the SF 86 security form.
- Required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually.
- For positions requiring travel more than twice per year, selectee may be required to obtain and maintain in good standing a Government-issued Travel Card for official government travel purposes.
Qualifications

- At least one year of general experience in retail sales.
- Ability to lead employees in performance of their duties.
- Knowledge of basic accounting and cash handling.
- Ability to operate a POS system or cash register.
- You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
Applicants may qualify based on experience, education, or a combination of the two:
- Experience Requirement: At least one year of general experience.
- Education Requirement: High school diploma and 2 years above high school with courses related to the occupation.
- Combination: A combination of both experience and education.
