Responsibilities
- Greet all customers when entering and exiting the store
- Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and clearly explain all benefits
- Accurately balance cash drawer at the end of the day
- Maintain a clean working environment and personal workspace
- Engage in conversation with customers to add a personal touch to each transaction
- End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer
- Maintain a professional appearance on the sales floor
- Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth
- Perform basic math; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Write simple correspondence
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees
- Demonstrate strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Show strong initiative and vision for continuous improvement while contributing to a positive team atmosphere
- Exercise judgment and tact while working with customers or co-workers
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with all levels of the organization
- Work assigned schedules, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Assist in all other duties as assigned

- Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred and/or 1-3 months of cashiering experience
Schedule
Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Average hours per week is 41 hours.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation
- Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures and perform job duties in a manner that minimizes risk of injury
Pay
Compensation for this position is $18/hour depending on experience and skills.
