About the role
The Purchasing position plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and security of supplier data in Indiana University's procurement system, BUY.IU. This role serves as the initial point of contact between suppliers and IU departments, focusing on providing a positive experience for both parties.
Responsibilities
- Provides concierge payment service to service providers, including high-profile individuals.
- Manages complex domestic and international tax, banking, foreign currency, and payment issues.
- Ensures timely and successful payment according to customer needs.
- Identifies and implements solutions to improve processes and operational efficiency.
- Maintains high-level business relationships with various stakeholders.
- Resolves escalated concerns and determines appropriate process and procedure changes.
- Ensures compliance with department processes, university policies, and state/federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in related field.
- Prior experience in a related field is preferred.

- Ability to communicate and operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment.
