Customer Service- Cashier

About the role

The Cashier provides excellent customer service by efficiently and accurately processing customer transactions at the checkout lane. This individual creates a pleasant and friendly atmosphere and treats each and every customer and associate like one of the family.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of quality service to customers
• Work as a team member and interact positively with customers
• Read, write, speak, and understand English
• Follow company cash handling procedures and maintain acceptable over/short records
• Notify customer service manager or assistant customer service manager of any problems, customer inquiries, or complaints
• Participate actively in controlling shrink (loss of profit)
• Ensure company standards of cleanliness, safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are achieved
• Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Passionate about people and committed to customer service excellence
• Able to work a schedule based on the business needs of the store location
• Able to work with management and fellow associates to build a strong customer service team
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Able to work with mechanical moving parts and toxic exposure

Qualifications

• Successful completion of e-learnings and department training programs
• Able to carry up to 20 lbs or more for self-checkout assistant
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and pull up to 250 lbs
• Able to bend, balance, smell, talk, see, hear, twist of the back and neck, and work in cluttered floor space
• Able to work continuously without breaks
• Able to work in a noisy, slippery, or cluttered floor environment

Skills

• Customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Computer literacy, including familiarity with POS systems
• Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive actions
