Customer Service Associate - Part Time

This position is located at the Stephenville, Texas campus and requires 19 hours per week on-site.
About the Role
The Customer Service Associate works under general supervision, supervises daily service area activities, and provides customer support in the Texan Outfitters retail store.
Responsibilities
- Greets customers and responds to difficult customer inquiries and complaints.
- Explains and applies policies and procedures.
- Investigates and researches customer complaints and participates in resolving problems.
- Assists in the development of office procedures.
- Helps train and advise staff.
- Compiles data to prepare correspondence, forms, reports, or other documents.
- Receives and processes requests for service.
- Adds, verifies, retrieves, and changes customer order information.
- Acts as a liaison between the service area and other units.
- Enters billing charges and may accept payments.
- Processes deliveries of general merchandise and moves checked-in items to the sales floor.
- Shelves, arranges, cleans, and organizes products or space within the store.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of related experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills and detail-oriented.

Pay
The target base hourly compensation is $15.74 per hour and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset.
Immigration Information
A Presidential proclamation issued on September 19, 2025, imposes a $100,000 fee on new H-1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025. Tarleton State University will not pay this fee.
