Responsibilities
- Collect, review and enter shipment information in the computer.
- Handle customer and carrier inquiries regarding the status and location of scheduled and en-route shipments.
- Schedule pickup and delivery appointments for shipments with customers and carriers.
- Prepare shipping paperwork as needed.
- Generate shipment status and other reports for internal and external customers.
- Maintain stakeholder files within the computer system(s).
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent experience.
- P.C. computer experience preferred.
- One to three years customer service experience preferred.
- Zero to six months customer transportation experience preferred.
- Knowledge of U.S. geography.
- Knowledge of customer service policies and practices.
- Skills in operating a P.C., alphanumeric data entry, and multiple line telephone system.
- Ability to communicate in a courteous, professional manner with customers.
- Ability to problem solve situations dealing with load status and customer inquiries.
