About the Role
Business Resource position in the Docketing Division, hourly rate of $24.88. The office of Administration provides internal support to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO), including docketing, an e-filing system essential to the day-to-day operations of the agency.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the lead worker in the Administrative Division under general supervision from supervisor
- Provide first line of guidance and support to other subordinate staff
- Assist management with day-to-day operational needs and workflow coordination
- Maintain certificate database, process tariffs, prepare materials for Supreme Court filings, and perform additional duties as assigned
- Identify and report potential issues or deficiencies to the supervisor and/or legal staff
- Participate on teams to devise and implement new procedures to enhance electronic tariff filing processes
- Compile data for production reports and ensure the accuracy and reliability of information provided
Requirements
- 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in office practices & procedures of which 3 mos. involved operation of various office equipment
- 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in public relations or customer service to include techniques for dealing with difficult people
- 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in state &/or federal laws, rules, policies & procedures applicable to assigned inquiries, requests, complaints &/or transactions to be processed
- 9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in typing, keyboarding, data entry, or word processing
- 9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in operation of personal computer

Pay
Hourly rate: $24.88. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary is set at the lowest rate of the salary range. In most cases, successful employees will increase a step in the salary range within six months, with subsequent step increases occurring every year. In addition, the State of Ohio offers cost of living adjustments, longevity supplements after five years of public service, and wellness incentives.
Schedule
Full-time. Report-in location: 180 E. Broad St. Columbus, OH 43215. PUCO core hours of operation are Monday–Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across PUCO departments. Most positions perform work on-site at the PUCO Central Office. The PUCO offers flextime work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 6:00am or as late as 10:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.
