Customer Service and Shipping Associate

About the role

PostNet in Oak Forest is looking for a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Customer Service and Shipping Associate to join our team. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position focused on helping customers with shipping, packaging, mailbox services, and other business needs. You'll work directly with customers throughout the day, helping them understand their options and recommending solutions based on their needs. The ideal candidate has strong customer-service and computer skills, enjoys working with people, and is comfortable learning new systems and processes. Previous experience in a shipping center, print or copy center, office-services business, or similar customer-service environment is preferred but not required. Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, or other Adobe products is also a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional service to customers in person, by phone, and by email.
• Process shipments through UPS, FedEx, DHL, and USPS.
• Help customers select appropriate shipping, packaging, and service options.
• Professionally pack customer items for shipment.
• Receive, sort, and distribute mail and packages for mailbox customers.
• Assist customers with mailbox and other PostNet services.
• Recommend products and services based on customer needs.
• Accurately process customer orders and payments.
• Learn and follow carrier requirements and PostNet operating procedures.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional center.

Requirements

• Strong customer-service and communication skills.

• Comfortable using computers and learning new software.
• Able to manage multiple customers and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable recommending products and services rather than simply processing transactions.
• Willing to learn shipping, packaging, mailbox, and other PostNet services.
• Available to work Saturdays from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in shipping and packaging, print or copy centers, office services, retail customer service, or a similar environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, or other Adobe Creative Cloud applications is helpful but not required.
• A college degree is not required.
• Physical requirements: regular standing and movement throughout the workday; ability to safely lift and move packages weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay

$16.00–$19.00 per hour, based on relevant experience and demonstrated skills.

Schedule

Full‑Time, 35–40 hours per week. Five days per week within operating hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM and Saturday, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM. Saturday availability is required; employees working Saturday receive a weekday off.
