About the Role

This position will be key in monitoring Quality and Continuous Improvement activities and representing the Quality function with our key customers. The role requires an individual capable of working collaboratively with all functions as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) in the value stream. You will support functional groups to implement process improvements through application of appropriate tools, driving positive change within the company culture to achieve measurable improvements in the customer scorecard. A positive attitude, drive for continuous improvement, and ensuring the voice of the customer is represented at all times are essential for this role. Candidates should be confident, self-motivated, work well within a team, and have the ability to communicate and work at all levels within the business.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the Quality culture in the business through compliance to the QMS, requirements of AS9100, and adherence to Quality Cardinal Rules.
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure product meets requirements and provide guidance in all matters related to Customer Requirements.
  • Drive problem resolution through to completion for customer SCAR’s and internal escapes, ensuring key milestones are met (e.g., Containment, Root Cause Analysis, Mistake Proofing).
  • Utilize PPAP core elements (PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, and Control Plans) to identify risks and propose mitigation solutions.
  • Participate in contract review, ensuring customer-specific requirements are understood and effectively communicated throughout the business.
  • Maintain reports, databases, and assist with the management of the QMS, including customer scorecards, corrective actions, manufacturing dashboards, and CPI project tracker. Update weekly and monthly quality reports as required.
  • Participate in customer calls and coordinate/host 2nd party (customer) visits and site audits.
  • Understand and communicate the ‘voice of the customer’ (externally and internally) in decisions affecting quality and performance.
  • Work with functional groups to help internal customers define and establish quality and process improvements.
  • Communicate and work at all levels within the business.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Experience working in regulated or quality-controlled environments where established standards and procedures guide product or process quality.
  • Experience supporting or operating within a Quality Management System (QMS), including participation in quality processes, documentation, or compliance activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ CQE).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Previous aerospace/aviation AS9100 industry experience.
  • 3 years of experience in Quality Management.
  • Basic knowledge of business management systems (ERP/MRP, e.g., SAP), configuration tools, etc.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing Quality role, such as hosting customer visits and audits.
  • Previous experience negotiating with customers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Ability to read and understand data reports to analyze opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining poise and tact in dealing with quality issues.
  • Proficient in Office 365.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $118,300 – $224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
