Customer Experience Associate

Responsibilities

• Smile and greet customers, answer customer questions, and help resolve customer concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner.
• Follow company policies relating to customer checkout to increase customer satisfaction.
• Operate front‑end scanning equipment and cash register.
• Perform all related checkout procedures, including properly and efficiently bagging merchandise and placing merchandise in the customer’s cart.
• Maintain accuracy during the transaction, ensuring the customer is charged for all items and appropriate funds are collected, including cash, checks, electronic payment, and coupons.
• Maintain proper security measures and cash‑drawer accounting procedures, avoiding overages and/or shortages.
• Follow all store and legal guidelines regarding the sale of tobacco and alcohol.
• Maintain knowledge of weekly ads, marketing promotions, and store layout to answer customer questions.
• Responsible for general sanitation in the department; follow cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc., are well maintained, clean, and meet all health and OSHA requirements, and dispose of trash properly.
• Ensure smooth function of the department and store by cooperating with co‑workers and supervisors.
• Continuously improve job performance.
• Utilize all company‑provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company‑sponsored footwear.
• May also be called upon to assist in other departments.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• No prior experience required.
