Key Responsibilities
Partner with Account Executives to lead the technical aspects of sales, from initial contact to closing deals.
Design elegant data architectures using DuckDB, MotherDuck, and the modern data stack, focusing on simplicity and performance.
Create and deliver tailored demos and proof-of-concepts that excite customers and demonstrate the power of MotherDuck.
Translate business needs into scalable, cost-effective, and delightful technical solutions, working closely with Product and Engineering teams.
Work cross-functionally to bring customer feedback into the product development process and shape the roadmap.
Be a trusted technical advisor, guiding customers through their journey from pilot to production, and implementing AI-powered automations to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a data engineer, analytics engineer, or similar, with hands-on skills in SQL, Python, and cloud-native data tooling.
2+ years in a pre-sales or solutions engineering role, preferably in the data or analytics field.
Proven, hands-on experience with OLAP workloads, including design and optimization for analytical query patterns.
Experience building with or alongside AI systems, not just using AI tools to speed up processes.
Knowledge of tools such as BigQuery, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, and a keen interest in the modern data stack.
Experience with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar agent harnesses to automate workflows and boost productivity.
Adept at explaining complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences with confidence and clarity.
Deep understanding of data warehouse architecture, performance optimization, and data modeling.
Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.

Compensation Range
$150K - $240K
