Customer Delivery Specialist (CDL Delivery Driver)

Nationwide Trailers · Odessa, TX · 3 wk ago
On-siteManagementFull-time

Position Overview

The Customer Delivery Specialist is the final and most visible step of the customer experience. This role combines professional CDL driving with hands-on service. It goes beyond moving a trailer from point A to point B — this person represents Nationwide Trailers at job sites, businesses, and homes where customers often have never visited a store or met their sales consultant face-to-face. The role ensures each delivery is safe, on time, and supported with a quick walkthrough so the customer knows how to use their trailer confidently. Drivers operate company-provided trucks (e.g., Ford Super Duty class) and use internal scheduling and communication tools to manage routes and communicate updates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate company vehicles and equipment safely and in compliance with CDL and DOT requirements.
  • Complete pretrip and posttrip inspections of truck and trailer combinations.
  • Secure loads properly and verify all delivery documentation is accurate.
  • Represent Nationwide Trailers professionally at every delivery.
  • Walk customers through basic trailer operation: hitching, jack use, safety chains, breakaway system, loading best practices, tie-down points, and door operation.
  • Confirm the trailer meets expectations, elevating concerns to store leadership if needed.
  • Capture delivery photos and proof-of-delivery documentation using company apps.
  • Use company scheduling and communication tools to receive routes, update statuses, and log delivery information.
  • Communicate proactively with customers, sales consultants, and store leaders to ensure smooth handoffs.
  • Document delivery notes to support follow-up, service needs, or warranty requests.
  • Assist with moving trailers around the lot or transporting units between stores when requested.
  • Maintain delivery truck and equipment cleanliness and readiness.
  • Support safe practices at stores and on customer sites.

Qualifications

  • Valid CDL (Class A or Class B depending on assigned deliveries).
  • Clean driving record and ability to meet DOT requirements.
  • Experience delivering equipment or trailers preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle trailer equipment.
  • Comfortable using smartphones/tablets and learning scheduling and communication software.
  • Dependable, professional, and able to work effectively in varied job-site environments.
