CDL Delivery Driver/Service Specialist

About the Role

The Service Specialist (CDL Delivery Driver) is responsible for safely operating an 18- to 24-foot commercial vehicle while delivering dialysis products to a diverse home patient base as well as kidney dialysis centers. Home patient visits consist of delivering dialysis solution, rotating stock, and ensuring order accuracy, with occasional order pick-ups and returns.

Schedule

• 4-day work week (5:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. or 6:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.)
• 1–2 overnights per week (hotel and meal per diem provided)
• Weekends off

Responsibilities

• Operate an 18- to 24-foot commercial vehicle safely to deliver dialysis products to home patients and dialysis centers
• Perform home deliveries of up to or in excess of 45 cases per delivery
• Rotate stock and verify order accuracy at patient homes
• Complete occasional order pick-ups and returns
• Maintain driver Hours of Service (HOS) log using an Electronic Logging Device (ELD)
• Perform multi-day routes that include some overnight travel
• Safely operate material handling equipment including lift gates, ramps, pallet jacks, walkie rider, and Liftkar (stair climbers)
• Follow all safety rules for equipment use and driving as outlined by Vantive and DOT

Team & Work Environment

This position is physically demanding and requires deliveries to a customer base that resides in both urban and rural localities. The Service Specialist works closely with multiple levels of the supply chain, including dialysis patients, regional office staff, customer service team, and healthcare professionals. The working environment encompasses all areas of a distribution center, tractor trailer, patient homes, and dialysis centers.

Physical demands include:

• Repetitive lifting and moving of cases weighing up to 50 pounds
• Frequent entering and exiting of vehicle
• Frequent bending, crouching, twisting, reaching, grasping, climbing, and balancing
• Frequent kneeling, squatting, and wrist turning
• Ability to adequately distinguish colors to identify product labels
• Working efficiently and effectively in extreme cold and/or extreme heat

Requirements

• Minimum of 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Air Brake endorsement
• MVR check must meet minimum standards; must understand and follow all DOT rules and requirements
• Valid Medical Card
• Minimum of 1 year of driving comparable equipment with inside delivery experience preferred
• Ability to maintain driver HOS log using Electronic Logging Device (ELD)
• Pass Industrial Capabilities Test
• Ability to work overtime

Pay

The estimated base salary for this position is $51,200 to $70,400 annually. The estimated range reflects an anticipated salary range for the position. Pay may be more or less than the anticipated range based on market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
