Delivery Driver (CDL)

About the role

This position involves delivering materials over designated routes, ensuring safe operation of vehicles, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Transport materials over designated routes
• Maintain safe operation of vehicles
• Provide prompt and courteous deliveries of orders
• Ensure materials loaded on the truck are as listed on the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest and are secured for safe transport
• Unload materials for customers at each delivery location in an orderly fashion while verifying that material is correct based on the Ship Ticket
• Perform daily detailed inspection of vehicle to ensure general maintenance and safety of vehicle
• Support warehouse operations by receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing products for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in an orderly fashion

Requirements

• Class-A CDL (with no air brake restrictions)
• Previous experience operating a commercial motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 lbs. or more
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid Driver's License in state of residence with 3 years driving history
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record with no type A violation; or no more than (1) type B violation in past (3) years
• A minimum of 1 year of driving experience within the past 36 months, operating a commercial motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 lbs. or more
• Read, comprehend, write, perform calculations, input accurately, reason, and analyze
• Function independently, completing various tasks accurately with close attention to detail

Qualifications

• Frequent driving is required in all types of weather conditions
• Must adhere to the proper safety regulations since there will be occasional exposure to events such as excessive noise and moving machinery
• Frequently walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, and reach
• Regularly handle objects and lift up to 75 pounds
• Physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle by the medical qualification standards in Sec. 391.41
• A Department of Transportation physical exam will be conducted by a licensed medical examiner
