Customer Care Specialist - Remote $18/Hr + Equipment
This role is open to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. Remote work is available except in the following locations: Edgewater, CO; Denver, CO; California; District of Columbia; Flagstaff, AZ; Illinois; Iowa; Montana; Seattle, WA; Rhode Island; and OCONUS. This is a part-time position.
About the role
Remote Team Members (RTMs) will process routine and complex inquiries to provide high-quality service to internal and external customers. Customer Care Specialists will provide quality service and support while fielding insurance-related questions via inbound phone calls. This opportunity is 100% remote, and equipment is provided. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
Responsibilities
- Handles inquiries involving group life, disability, and absence, including claims, medical underwriting, and continuation of coverage
- Handles first notices of loss for group life, disability, and absence claims via telephone and non-phone channels of work
- Interacts with internal/external business partners, including insureds and claimants
- Meets established departmental quality, service, phone metric, and productivity objectives
- Prepares documents, communications, and other materials using established formats and standard software
- Resolves standard and complex inquiries and problems, escalating as needed
- Follows procedures to ensure adherence to the company's risk and compliance policies
- Provides feedback and recommendations to the team to improve the quality of customer care
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Proficiency with Windows-based software applications and MS Office Suite products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- 6 or more months of contact center or customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Detail-oriented with the ability to mentally and tactually handle or resolve issues
- High-volume data entry skills
- Ability to operate and navigate multiple operating systems while speaking, actively listening, and processing what is being discussed (preferred)
Schedule
Training: 6 weeks, Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm EST (100% mandatory; no time off will be approved).
Post-Training:
- Monday - Friday | 11:00 am - 7:30 pm EST
- Monday - Friday | 10:00 am - 6:30 pm EST
- Monday - Friday | 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm EST
