Customer Accounts Specialist

About the role
As a Herc Customer Account Specialist - Canada, you will control a portfolio of accounts from billing until the receivable is cleared through daily customer contacts. You will perform various customer service functions, interacting with customers via phone, email, and fax to secure payments and maintain strong relationships. This position reports to the Collection Supervisor, Finance Shared Services.
You will help promote long-term business relationships with customers, the Herc Sales Team, and Regional Branch Managers by addressing sensitive issues with excellent customer service skills. Effective communication and the ability to discern accounts with cash flow issues are critical to minimizing revenue exposure.
Responsibilities
- Proactively initiate B2B customer contacts to provide invoice copies, update POs, account documentation, and ensure payment on past due invoices.
- Process billing adjustments and customer discrepancies with urgency.
- Use appropriate judgment in releasing/holding orders, processing adjustment disputes, resolving unapplied payments, and suspending accounts due to non-payment.
- Escalate uncollectible accounts and report material changes to department heads regarding customers' financial positions.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external customers to drive process efficiencies.
- Assist in projects, process improvements, and other collection-related tasks as identified by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred, but not required with a minimum of 3-5 years in Accounts Receivable with a focus in Collections.
- One year of Credit and B2B Collection experience.
- Previous customer service and professional telephone etiquette experience.

Pay
$22 - $25 per hour.
