About the role
The Customer Accounts Manager role at Aaron’s is a high-energy, recognition-based career with purpose. This position drives the success of our stores by leading the customer accounts department, focusing on achieving company standards for collections and lease renewals. The role involves strategic influence on team performance, assisting the General Manager with various operational functions, building authentic customer relationships, managing the collections process, and performing a variety of duties as directed.
Responsibilities
- Connect and relate well to people, demonstrating empathy and listening attentively.
- Successfully navigate difficult conversations.
- Strategically influence team performance to help customers achieve their goals of ownership.
- Assist General Manager with operational functions, including account recommendations, payment frequency, and payment history monitoring.
- Build authentic customer relationships to support customers in their ownership goals and drive sales.
- Manage the collections process by counseling customers to gain timely lease/merchandise renewals.
- Review and close lease agreements, confirming customer identification, collecting money, and obtaining customer signatures.
- Contact customers who have not renewed merchandise agreements.
- Maintain customers' contact over the phone and through home visits, updating customer information and ensuring accuracy.
- Manage the accounts staff to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly department goals.
- Clean and certify merchandise in the cleaning station for all merchandise personally returned.
- Complete and maintain weekly vehicle maintenance sheets and route sheets daily.
- Load, secure, and protect products in the company vehicle safely.
- Aid the Sales Team as needed.
- Perform any other reasonable duties requested by management.
Requirements
- At least 21 years old with a valid state Driver’s License and compliance with the Company’s Driver Qualification Policy, including a satisfactory MVR.
- For US employees: Ability to work schedules varying from 8 am to 9 pm, lift up to 50 lbs. without help and up to 300 lbs. with a dolly, and have two years of college or two years of previous management experience preferred.
- For Canadian employees: At least 18 years old, must meet DOT requirements to obtain certification in required states (US), and have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high energy, and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Proper telephone etiquette, uphold the Aaron’s Brand, and protect company assets.
- Professional appearance and proficient computer skills.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $11.25 to $13.00 per hour. This position is also eligible for incentive pay based on performance.
Schedule
This position requires working schedules varying from 8 am to 9 pm.
