CUSTOM FINISHING SPECIALIST

About the role

This position ensures chargeable finishing work is performed according to customer specifications, following job specifications and shipping and packaging instructions.

Responsibilities

• Reviews instructions for each work assignment before beginning work to ensure full understanding and completion.
• Fulfills manual finishing tasks such as mail sort, WBS, ADF, and missing numbers.
• Packs out wrapped, inserted, or loose forms, organizing them according to control numbers and shipping instructions.
• Hand-stuffs jobs according to job specifications and uses special components for jobs not suitable for automated equipment.
• Utilizes EPIC, production binders, Finishing Clerk/Expeditor, and Production Coordinator to ensure client specifications are followed.
• Organizes the work area to maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Takes out the accumulator as needed.
• Follows all required safety procedures, including PPEs, ergonomics, and chemical hazards.
• Protects the health and safety of all employees by performing tasks in a manner that safeguards their well-being.
• Cross-trains in other areas as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Works additional time as needed.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED is required. General knowledge and use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and fax machines are preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Moves self in various positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• Moves about to accomplish tasks or move between worksites.
• Lifts up to 10 pounds in all directions, with a maximum lift capacity of 40 pounds.
• Communicates with others to exchange information.
• Repeats motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Must be able to ascend and descend stairs.
• Operates machinery and/or power tools.
• Stands for extended periods of time.
• Assesses the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
• The environment contains medium to high noise levels.
• The environment is not exposed to extreme changes in temperatures or weather conditions.
