CUSTODY TECHNICIAN - WE WILL TRAIN YOU! Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office – Kootenai County Jail

About the Role

This position supports Detention Deputies during the inmate booking and release process. Duties include direct contact with inmates, maintaining and updating inmate records, and performing various jail-related clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Direct contact with inmates
• Maintain and update inmate records
• Perform various jail-related clerical tasks
• Operate the jail’s control systems, including doors, gates, video surveillance, and intercom systems

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least six (6) months of work experience
• Possess or be able to obtain NCIC (National Crime Information Center) certification within six (6) months of hire
• Ability to carry and use pepper spray

• Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

Starting Pay: $22.96 per hour DOE (includes $0.50 shift differential)
