Key Responsibilities

  • Perform custodial duties as required by district standards
  • Perform many diversified tasks each day to maintain the cleanliness and safe condition of the schools
  • Operate custodial power equipment
  • Assist in moving equipment and furniture as required
  • Regular and on-time attendance required
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
  • Affords assistance with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment

Required Qualifications

  • Working knowledge and experience of custodial equipment, supplies, and proper cleaning procedures
  • High School education or GED preferred

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Custodians work inside classrooms, hallways, restrooms, gymnasiums, cafeterias, and offices, as well as outside maintaining school grounds
  • Frequent use of cleaning solutions, disinfectants, and floor treatments requires proper safety precautions
  • Exposed to high temperatures when working outside
  • Requires long periods of standing and walking, often covering large areas of the school throughout the shift
  • Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and other cleaning activities require repetitive arm and hand movements
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds

Performance Pay

  • Available annually

New Hire Experience

  • 1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum

New Hire Education

  • 1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position

Employment Type

Full-time (40 hours per week)

2nd Shift Evening (plus $.35/hr shift pay)

Base Hourly: $17.12

Schedule

Class/Calendar: A12, 12 months
