Custodian - Second Shift

About the role

This full-time position involves maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning school environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow a daily work schedule
• Change bulbs and regulate climate control systems
• Clean classrooms, restrooms, hallways, gymnasium, and commons areas
• Perform minor repairs
• Ensure building security by locking up
• Assist with safety procedures, including fire drills and emergency evacuations
• Adhere to safety protocols
• Contribute to a healthy, attractive environment that fosters pride

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Iowa driver’s license
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders or scaffolds
• Mechanical aptitude
• Self-starter capable of working independently and completing tasks efficiently
• Pass a background check

Pay

$16.50 per hour

Supervision is provided by the Facilities Manager.
