Custodian | Part-Time | Santander Arena

Position Summary

The Custodian performs all custodial work throughout the building to keep the Santander Arena & Performing Arts Center in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. They’re responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of the facility, ensuring that all areas meet established cleanliness and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Arrive for each scheduled shift on time, in uniform and ready to work
• Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom sanitation
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and high-touch surfaces regularly
• Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners
• Refill paper products, soap dispensers, and other supplies as needed
• Maintain floors through stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning as needed
• Monitor and report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety concerns to the supervisor
• Follow all safety procedures and use protective equipment as required
• Assist with outdoor sweeping or seasonal upkeep when applicable
• Works safely, quickly and efficiently to meet all deadlines
• Maintains a positive, outgoing demeanor and acknowledges guests in a friendly manner
• All other tasks assigned by Custodial Team Lead

Qualifications

• Ability to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, weekends, and holidays
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior custodial or janitorial experience is a plus, but not required
• Able to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others
• Able to work independently and exercise good judgment and initiative
• Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, stooping, lifting, and walking
