Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties to keep shop clean, including removing scrap and refuse, sweeping, and operating floor sweepers.
- Clean work areas, aisles, storage areas, shop offices, restrooms, and other designated spaces.
- Scrub and wax floors, wash windows, and dust furniture.
- Fill dispensers in restrooms and replenish bathroom supplies.
- Cut grass or shovel snow as required.
- Arrange boxes, materials, and equipment in a neat and orderly manner.
- Clean floors and apply floor drier.
- Pick up reusable scrap for salvage and store in containers.
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms.
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies as needed.
- Dust furniture and equipment, and polish metalwork.
- Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empty wastebaskets and ashtrays, and transport trash to disposal area.
- Replace light bulbs.
- Run errands as needed (e.g., post office, local stores).

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred; one to three months of related experience and/or training is a plus.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and communicate effectively with other employees.
- Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using units of American money, weight, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and deal with standardized situations with minimal variables.
