CUSTODIAN - PART-TIME

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of general custodial and/or sanitizing duties including cleaning restrooms, kitchens, and grounds; dusting; mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming floors; replenishing toilet paper, towels, and soap; delivering supplies and materials; washing walls, windows, doors, and handles; and/or performing other related activities.

Performs manual labor activities, which includes gathering materials and equipment, placing materials in proper locations, moving furniture and equipment, climbing and working on ladders, and/or performing other related activities.

Operates and maintains a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and/or operational equipment and tools.

Collections and disposes of trash from grounds and buildings.

Maintains inventory levels and notifies appropriate individuals when stock levels reach specified levels.

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.); or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
• Valid Driver's License as per State law or requirement.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; and risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Uniform

An employee in this position will be supplied with a uniform, provided by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury. The employee is responsible for abiding by the Police Jury's Uniform Agreement.
