Custodian - Open to Kern High School District Regular Employees Only -

Qualifications

• Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work
• Knowledge of maintaining school buildings and grounds in a safe, clean and orderly condition
• Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency
• Ability to perform heavy physical labor
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
• Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
• One year of experience in custodial or general labor work required
• Ability to read and write at a level necessary to perform the duties of the position
• Must possess and maintain a valid California driver's license
• Must submit a recent DMV (3 year minimum) driving record with application
• Successful candidate will be trained and responsible for the Kern High School District's needs regarding asbestos and hazardous materials
• Criminal history check and pre-employment medical assessment required prior to employment

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning, custodial functions, grounds maintenance and gardening work at an assigned school site under supervision
• Exercise responsibility for the general cleanliness of assigned locations
• Perform a variety of duties in the upkeep of assigned school site and related areas

Pay

Starting salary: $3,594.62 (monthly)

Schedule

Number of months: 12 (to begin as soon as possible); Number of hours: 8 (daily working hours 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.)
