Custodian Multifil(DOH/NMBHI #12831+)
Pay
Salary $15.45 – $23.18 hourly ($32,136 – $48,204 annually). This position is a Pay Band C1.
Role Overview
Custodians perform a variety of heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash. They may fix leaky faucets, empty trash cans, do painting and carpentry, replenish bathroom supplies, mow lawns, and ensure heating and air‑conditioning equipment works properly. Janitors may wet‑ or dry‑mop floors, clean bathrooms, vacuum carpets, dust furniture, make minor repairs, and exterminate insects and rodents.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine janitorial services.
- Prepare requests to order supplies and equipment.
- Operate and perform routine repairs on equipment.
- Check locks on buildings and windows to maintain security.
- Perform independent janitorial services.
Requirements
- Experience in housekeeping, environmental services or custodial work.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning, sanitation and infection control practices.
- Ability to work independently and follow established cleaning procedures.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work assigned schedules.
Employment Requirements
- Valid New Mexico driver’s license.
- Defensive Driving Certificate.
Working Conditions
Work is performed indoors and may involve exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or caustic chemicals. Lifting, pushing, pulling, transferring, and/or carrying up to 50 pounds.
Schedule
Position may require rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays.
