Custodian Inmate Crew Leader
About the role
Supervises inmates (working trusties) to perform a variety of duties to keep the facilities clean and sanitary (excluding dorms).
Responsibilities
- Maintains inventory and provides work tracking reports as required.
- Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
- Prepares and maintains maintenance records including technical manuals, parts inventory and repair records.
- Prioritizes work.
- Keeps the facility clean and sanitary, including maintenance tasks, cleaning surfaces, bathrooms, trash removal, and sweeping/mopping/waxing floors and vacuuming carpets.
- Ensures adequate stock levels are maintained for all supplies provided.
- Instructs and guides inmates on the safe use, care and proper return of necessary equipment and tools.
- Performs and oversees proper cleaning and sanitation processes.
- Operates and cares for equipment, tools, and vehicles according to prescribed standards and schedules.
- Observes, documents, and reports any unusual changes in inmate behavior.
- Notifies designated persons during emergencies and ensures daily work meets productivity and schedule expectations.
- Complies with safety programs and adheres to county, state, and federal policies and regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Florida driver license
- Medical screening required prior to appointment
- Able to lift up to 50lbs. without assistance
