About the role

The Facilities Management Department provides a safe, clean, aesthetically attractive and functional campus environment through the maintenance of all campus buildings and building areas for the enhancement of the learning environment, the overall appeal of campus, and the level of human safety and comfort. The Custodian II will provide lead-worker direction to assigned custodial staff while performing a full range of custodial and facility support services to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a supervisor to a group of 3 or more full-time Custodians, including both Custodian I's and Custodian II's, as well as student workers and temporary employees to accomplish the overall work assignment.
• Communicate the needs and requirements among custodians and building occupants.
• Organize, schedule, monitor, and inspect the work of each custodian.
• Supervisory decisions are made at the Custodian III level for leave approvals and leave management as well as writing reviews and documentation to support appropriate personnel actions.
• Work with the Custodian IV to make sure all applicable training for assigned Custodians is completed in a timely manner.
• Manage and inspect building entrance snow removal and ice melt spreading.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position.
• A valid and unrestricted State of Colorado driver's license.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in floor care, work experience in a school setting, and supervisory experience.

Benefits

This position will have exposure to and will use custodial cleaning supplies and chemicals and ice melt. The salary range for this position is $51,360.00 to $71,196.00 ( $4,280/mo to $5,933/mo).
