About the role
Villa Feliciana Medical Complex operates health care programs serving residents with acute, subacute, and chronic illnesses or disabilities. We seek a custodian to join our Housekeeping Department, focusing on cleanliness and decontamination to ensure a safe environment for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning, mopping, dusting, and sweeping assigned areas daily.
- Washing bedside curtains, cleaning trash cans, cleaning blinds, and decontaminating patient rooms and restrooms containing bio-hazardous wastes.
- Mopping dining rooms, cleaning contaminated trash bins, disposing of infectious waste daily, cleaning patios, and steam cleaning outside areas.
- Stripping, buffing, and waxing floors, vacuuming using a wet/dry vacuum cleaner, cleaning furniture, walls, baseboards, doors, mirrors, and shower stalls, loading, unloading, and operating laundry equipment, and shaking out linen before processing through dryers.
- Checking laundry lists, recording discrepancies, picking up and delivering linen and laundry to patient buildings, attending in-service training, and removing insects from lighting fixtures.
- Mixing cleaning solutions as needed for various tasks.
- Attending in-service training on safety, bio-hazardous materials, chemical safety, new equipment orientation, infection control procedures, and other topics as required by HCFA and the hospital.
Requirements
No experience or training required. Appointment type: Probational, Promotional, or Permanent. Career progression: Custodian 1, 2, or 3. Work schedule: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Compensation: Eligible for longevity pay starting at $1.00 per hour.
