About the role

The mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is to serve the Veteran population of Louisiana through the provision of custodial services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. Join the State of Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home, where you'll step into a role as a Custodian 1, 2 or 3 that combines sanitation and infection control with excellence genuine care for those who served.

Responsibilities

• Works in the housekeeping department, including extensive daily cleaning, mopping, disinfecting the veterans' rooms and the entire building.
• Discusses evaluations and performance with the Custodian Supervisor A, who recommends disciplinary actions when needed, and engages in conflict resolution.
• Affirms quality assurance through audits and staff in-services, aiding in improvements within the custodian department and adherence to policy and procedure standards.
• Reports resident complaints and incidents, collaborating with the Custodian Supervisor A to ensure all complaints and incidents are properly handled.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and effective work environment for residents and employees.

Benefits

Compensation: This position is eligible for an additional Premium Pay of $3.00/HR for hours worked only.

Schedule

• Hours are from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or 10:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m., to include some weekends and holidays.
