Classified Custodial - Grade IV - Second Shift

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is recommended
• Preferably have experience in custodial work and some knowledge of skills and procedures
• Ability to read and write the English language and participate in the job training program
• Ability to read and follow directions and relate well with fellow employees, students, staff, and the public
• Exhibit acceptable standards of emotional stability, moral character, sound health, and be physically able to perform assigned work

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and housekeeping routine duties
• Follow routine cleaning tasks and assigned work schedule as established by the head custodian or designee
• Wipe cafeteria tables between lunch periods and at the conclusion of lunch
• Perform periodic total cleaning of rooms and areas, including wall washing, floor stripping, sealing, waxing, washing of furniture, and window cleaning
• Clean all garbage cans and storage areas
• Inspect all assigned areas for cleanliness, damage, safety hazards, and unnecessary energy consumption; report deficiencies to the Head Custodian or immediate supervisor
• Assist in the unloading of delivery trucks
• Place, fold, or move cafeteria tables when necessary
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Assistant Head Custodian 2nd shift
