Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs custodial duties in lobby areas, halls, meeting rooms, offices, and restrooms.
- Vacuums and shampoos carpets, sweeps, mops, scrubs, and waxes floors, washes windows, dusts areas, including hard-to-reach areas, empties trash cans, cleans toilets, sink basins, and counters, shines mirrors and faucets.
- Sweeps parking lots and exterior walkways, cleans exterior areas as needed.
- Maintains inventory of all supplies required to perform the duties of the position.
- Moves custodial items and other miscellaneous items from one place to another.
- Affords assistance to Event Attendants when tasks are assigned.
- Carries out a continuous effort to improve operations, work processes, and works cooperatively and jointly to provide continuous improvement and customer-driven service.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and compounds, and their proper uses.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Operational proficiency with commercial floor cleaning equipment.
Minimum Educational and Training Requirements
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
- Valid driver's license.

- The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, bending, crouching, or stooping.
- Frequent lifting of light and heavy objects, using tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.

- Talking, shouting to be heard above ambient noise.
- Preparing, analyzing data, transcribing, computer terminal, extensive reading.
- Determining accuracy, neatness, observing facilities/structures.
- Operating motor vehicles/heavy equipment.
- Close acuity for inspection of small defects, machines, use measurement devices, or fabricate parts.
- Walking on foot to accomplish tasks, long distances, or site to site.
- Exposure to dust, dirt, grease, machinery with moving parts, and irritating chemicals.
- Use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, or gloves.
