• Full-time (12-month) calendar: 248 work days, 13 paid holidays

Pay Adjustments

• New Hire Experience: 1% for two or more years of full-time like experience, plus an additional 1% per year (not to exceed the maximum hiring range of 5%)
• New Hire Education: 1% of hourly rate for a college degree in a similar field (combined with work experience credit not to exceed the maximum hiring range of 5%)

About the Role

Maintain a safe, clean, and attractive physical plant.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust, vacuum, scrub, wax, and polish floors and surfaces
• Wash windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment
• Clean assigned areas to prescribed standards and requirements
• Empty trash receptacles
• Perform minor repairs
• Move furniture and equipment based on the needs of the facility
• Replace light bulbs and perform minor maintenance
• Inspect all fire equipment on campus and maintain records of inspection
• Report safety/security hazards and needs for major repairs in an expeditious manner
• Secure the facility, ensuring building is locked/unlocked as required
• Handle emergency custodial duties for principals, teachers, and staff
• Follow district policies as outlined
• Perform all duties safely and prudently as directed by supervisors

Requirements

• Ability to read and write English as it pertains to job functions
• Previous custodial experience desired
• Satisfactory criminal background check

Physical Requirements

Positions in this classification typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, sitting, finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), focusing ability, or other factors applicable to the job.

• Stand and walk constantly on various floor surfaces while performing various duties, including but not limited to push/pull force of up to 100 pounds for various machines
• Stand constantly and walk frequently, lifting items of various sizes, up to 50 pounds (items over 50 pounds require a second staff member to lift safely)
• Rarely climb ladders to perform various stocking, inventory, cleaning, or maintenance tasks
• May be subject to travel, fumes, odors, chemicals, blood-borne pathogens, workplace restrictions, cold and/or hot temperatures, and loud noises
