Location: Early Childhood Center – West County, year-round (12-month), non-exempt position.
Pay
Starting at $17.00 per hour, with higher rates based on verifiable experience.
Schedule
8-hour shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Responsibilities
- Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds (classrooms, offices, cafeteria, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, grounds, lockers, etc.) to maintain a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment.
- Confers with building administration to coordinate activities ensuring proper and efficient maintenance of assigned buildings, facilities, and grounds.
- Informs students, teachers, and on-site personnel regarding activities, safety issues, concerns, and proper maintenance of facilities and equipment.
- Participates in unit meetings, in-service training, and workshops to gather information required to perform job functions.
- Performs maintenance and setup duties (strip/wax floors, move furniture/supplies/equipment, sort and dispose of waste/recyclables, set up chairs/tables, inspect playgrounds, etc.) to complete and facilitate maintenance projects and provide safe areas for assemblies and events.
- Prepares site for daily operations (open/close gates, raise flags, secure doors/windows, sweep walkways, remove snow/ice, etc.) to ensure facilities are operational and hazard-free.
- Assists students and pedestrians crossing streets, as needed, to ensure visibility and safety.
- Replenishes classroom and restroom supplies (paper towels, soap, tissues, etc.) to ensure adequate quantities for daily use.
- Responds to immediate safety and operational concerns (facility damage, vandalism, alarms, bodily fluid cleanup, etc.) by taking appropriate action and/or notifying personnel for resolution.
- Responds to inquiries from staff, students, parents, and visitors to provide information, take action, or direct to appropriate personnel.
- Secures facilities and grounds (doors, gates, windows, alarms, lights, etc.) to minimize property damage, equipment loss, and potential liability.
- Supports other site maintenance staff (grounds, trades, etc.) to complete custodial activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.
- Criminal background check required.
