Custodian - Day Shift

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning procedures including sweeping, mopping floors, dusting, polishing furniture and equipment, cleaning glass at entrance doors, emptying wastebaskets and removing trash, emptying outside trash containers, and ensuring a clean, sanitary environment.
• Clean restrooms and restock supplies to meet staff and visitor needs.
• Operate floor machines, burnishers, and carpet cleaning equipment.
• Follow a schedule to minimize disruption to employees and the general public when shutting down and cleaning areas.
• Respond effectively to unexpected changes in work volume, emergency scheduling, or staff revisions.
• Adhere to safety rules for handling and disposing of cleaning agents, including universal precautions and proper use of personal protection equipment.
• Communicate effectively with other staff and visitors.
• Work harmoniously with other members of staff.
• Be familiar with and follow guidelines for the use of safety equipment when operating power equipment.
• Able to handle chemicals and hazardous items properly.

Qualification Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior custodial experience.
