About the role

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas, ensuring a safe and professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties as listed on the daily schedule.
• Handle Hazardous Waste responsibilities, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping, receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area and report incidents or hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures; stop at-risk behavior of others and self.
• Perform work assignments collaboratively with other employees.
• Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision professionally.
• Communicate effectively with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers.
• Fill in during staff shortages and support shift leads in completing punch-list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service, satisfaction, reporting systems, and environmental standards.

Requirements

• No specific education requirement; 3-6 months of training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May require a valid driver’s license.
• Must complete all safety and task training certifications.
• May require forklift certification.
• Bilingual ability is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and willingness to share with the team.
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to sit, talk, or listen.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

Pay

$17.49 - $17.50 per hour.
