About the role

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas, ensuring a safe and professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties as listed on the daily schedule
• Handle Hazardous Waste responsibilities, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping, receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at-risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers
• Fill in during staff shortages
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction standards
• Understand reporting systems and environmental protocols

Requirements

• No specific education requirement; 3-6 months of training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• May be required to have a valid driver’s license
• Must complete all safety and task training certification
• May be required to be forklift certified

Skills

• Bilingual ability is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment; willingness to share with the team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to sit, talk, or listen
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds

Pay

$19.04 per hour

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
