Responsibilities

• Sweep, wash, mop, and perform general clean-up work.
• Clean restrooms and break rooms, replenish supplies, dispose of wastepaper, and keep building and surrounding grounds orderly.
• Operate, if over 18 years of age and if training is provided, various motor-driven cleaning equipment in the store.
• Maintain cleaning equipment in good repair.
• Assist with or make cardboard bales as needed.
• Maintain the sales floor, keeping it free of slip and trip hazards; may clear sidewalks and porches of snow and ice; dispose of trash and debris in back room, break room, front-end, and parking lot.
• Notify store management when repairs or maintenance may be required or when unsafe conditions are observed that require more than personal attention; inform the front-end manager when additional supplies are needed.
• Aid department managers in meeting sanitation requirements, including proper maintenance and sanitation of sink traps.
• Ensure smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors; continuously improve job performance.
• Perform other duties as required by the store manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• No prior experience required.
