Custodian

About the Role

Provides daily cleaning and minor maintenance services for all aspects of the operations, including cleanliness of the offices, public spaces, restroom facilities, and other areas as required in a hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily cleaning and minor maintenance for offices, public spaces, drinking fountains, kitchen, and restroom facilities.
• Perform light and heavy cleaning tasks, including window washing, furniture polishing, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, floor cleaning and polishing, and emptying trashcans and ashtrays.
• Keep the building clean and orderly by wiping windowsills, walls, light switches, mirrors, and baseboards.
• Clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, tiles, walls, and fixtures in bathrooms.
• Restock soap, toiletries, and other supplies and amenities.
• Vacuum return air vents weekly and wipe accumulated dirt from supply A/C vents.
• Identify and report supply needs to supervisor.
• Incorporate safe work practices and maintain regular, reliable attendance.
• Perform routine maintenance on custodial equipment and supplies.
• Unlock and lock doors as needed, ensuring security after cleaning.
• Report needs and concerns to appropriate staff, including submitting or recommending work orders.
• Ensure proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies while promoting workplace safety.
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or adjusting furniture.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to lift and move over 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education; or one month of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
