Responsibilities
- Sweeps, washes, mops, and performs general clean-up work.
- Cleans restrooms and break rooms, replenishes supplies, disposes of wastepaper, and maintains the building and surrounding grounds in orderly condition.
- May operate motor-driven cleaning equipment (if over 18 years of age and training is provided).
- Maintains cleaning equipment in good repair.
- May assist in making cardboard bales.
- Maintains the sales floor, ensuring it is free of slip and trip hazards.
- Clears sidewalks and porch of snow and ice.
- Disposes of trash and debris in the back room, break room, front-end, and parking lot.
- Notifies store management of required repairs, maintenance, or unsafe conditions.
- Informs front-end management when additional supplies are needed.
- Aids department managers in meeting sanitation requirements, including maintaining sink traps.
- Ensures smooth store operations by cooperating with co-workers and superiors.
- Continuously improves job performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the store manager.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
- No prior experience required.
