Custodian

Job Description

• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming
• Machines, mixers, table racks, conveyors, dishes, refrigerators
• Dusting of all office furniture, wipe down of desks
• Cleaning all bathrooms and breakrooms
• Restocking bathrooms/breakrooms
• Empty trash and recycle cans
• Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and shampoo carpets
• Ensure soap and paper towel dispensers are full at all times
• General cleaning: removal of garbage and debris in all departments, assist paint in weekly cleanup
• Pick up trash in parking lots and areas surrounding buildings
• Wear necessary PPE to protect from hazards including hexavalent chromium
• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

• Must be able to consistently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50-75 lbs.
• This is a physically active job.
• Requires vision, average sight, touch.
• MUST be able to wear PPE.

Education

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (required)

Experience

• Prefer previous janitorial/custodial experience

Work Environment

• The majority of work is performed in a manufacturing setting.
• This position requires access to knowledge and technical data regulated by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
