Custodian

About the Role

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas, performing duties safely and satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties and all tasks listed on the daily schedule.
• Handle Hazardous Waste responsibilities, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain daily upkeep of assigned areas.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures; stop at-risk behavior of others and self.
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees and complete repetitive tasks.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision; communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers.
• Fill in during staff shortages and support shift lead in completing punch-list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment and present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service, satisfaction, reporting systems, and environmental protocols.

Requirements

• No specific education requirement; 3-6 months of training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May be required to have a valid driver’s license.
• Must complete all safety and task training certification.
• May be required to be forklift certified.

Skills

• Bilingual ability is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment; willingness to share knowledge with the team.
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Pay

$15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Schedule

• Sun-Wed: 6:00pm - 4:30am
• Sun-Wed: 8:00pm - 6:30am
• Thurs-Sun: 6:00pm - 4:30am
• Thurs-Sun: 8:00pm - 6:30am
