You will perform assignments in a safe, efficient, and professional manner, measuring and improving quality while benchmarking against industry leaders. Close, positive communication with departments and occupants is essential.
Responsibilities
- Maintain attractive, sanitary, and safe facilities to support MCC’s strategic goals.
- Perform custodial tasks in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
- Measure and continuously improve quality and benchmark standards against industry leaders.
- Develop and maintain positive communications with departments and building occupants.
- Operate custodial equipment, use cleaning chemicals safely, and follow oral/written directions.
- Prioritize multiple tasks and work independently in the absence of supervision.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and those contacted in the course of work.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (must be conferred by application deadline).
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral/written directions.
- Manual dexterity to mop, scrub, operate equipment, and climb.
- Desire to perform manual labor.
- Ability to work first, second, and/or third shift.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work.
- Understanding of safe work practices.
- Ability to learn to use a variety of custodial equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their interactions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, kneel, climb, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, pull, and perform related physical activities.
- Works on ladders up to 12 feet; frequently lifts 60 pounds to a height of three feet.
- Wears rubber gloves for several hours per day.
- Must be able to work in conditions that include dust, mold, and a variety of chemicals.
Schedule
Second shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
