About the role

The Custodian position will safely perform Janitorial duties and/or simple maintenance operations throughout the entirety of the Manitou facility. Such operations could include work both indoors and outdoors as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment
• Work without close supervision
• Keeps buildings and property in clean and orderly condition
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuum floors
• Gathers and empties trash
• Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities
• Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment
• Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers
• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
• Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions
• Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures
• Manages inventory of cleaning supplies
• Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems
• Work with coworkers in a polite and courteous manner, providing cross training as needed
• Able to work overtime as required
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. independently
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours
• Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time
• Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions
• Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules
• Ability to practice good communication skills
• Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights as needed
• Ability to work with others well and also with outside vendors / suppliers
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Pay

Base pay range between $20.00 – $25.00 per hour, with potential quarterly bonus based on performance; actual pay determined by experience level, skills, qualifications, and work location.

Schedule

Shift available: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (no travel required).
