About the role

Custodian at Compass Connections makes a significant impact by ensuring safe and sanitized environments for children in emergency shelter and group homes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and sanitized conditions in agency buildings and equipment.
• Operate janitorial and maintenance equipment and report malfunctions.
• Participate in scheduled meetings and evacuations during emergencies.
• Maintain confidentiality in all areas of child and program operations.
• Implement safety protocols and follow Compass Connections policies.
• Support foster care programs by recruiting and supporting foster parents.
• Report unsafe conditions and suggest solutions.
• Meet deadlines and frequently move heavy equipment.
• Foster a positive environment and demonstrate respect for all stakeholders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in janitorial or maintenance.
• First aid, CPR, and emergency behavior intervention certifications.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Ability to respond sensitively and competently to diverse populations.
• Work collaboratively with other staff and service providers.
• Organize and plan work effectively.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of Compass Connections policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English.
• Passive immunity to influenza (annual vaccination required).
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Pay

$21.32 per hour.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm.
