About the role

Bucknell University is currently accepting applications for a highly-motivated, team-player to join our Facilities team as a Custodian. In this role, you will assist with the care and upkeep of the university, and create a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff and external guests.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces in assigned areas including classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Collects and disposes of trash, recycling, and other waste materials according to university policies and procedures.
• Ensures proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials when encountered.
• Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of various types of flooring including carpets, tiles, and hardwood surfaces.
• Performs periodic floor maintenance tasks such as buffing, waxing, and carpet shampooing as needed.
