Custodial Worker Supervisor 3rd Shift

This is an essential, 3rd-shift position working Monday – Friday, 03:00 am – 11:00 am.

Responsibilities

• Direct oversight of 3rd-shift custodial workers
• Interface effectively with campus customers, the public, and management on a daily basis
• Train advanced cleaning processes to custodians during group meetings
• Coach workers 1:1 to develop their skills
• Ensure compliance with departmental objectives
• Demonstrate advanced competency and knowledge in the use of custodial supplies and modern cleaning equipment
• Perform custodial work during emergencies and while leading a team on priority assignments
• Generate daily shift reports
• Generate employee performance evaluations
• Equalize overtime
• Perform and document cleaning inspections

Requirements

• One year as a Custodial Worker 2 (commonwealth title) or two years of experience performing custodial work
• Valid driver’s license
• Possession of a Cleaning Management Institute Certification Supervisor Level or the ability to obtain within 6 months (employer will cover costs to obtain if candidate does not possess)
• Demonstrated knowledge of the materials, methods, and practices used in custodial work
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years of supervisor or lead worker experience in custodial or related field
• Knowledge of APPA cleaning standards
• 1 or more years’ experience performing inspections and providing feedback to subordinates
• 2 or more years’ experience writing and delivering employee performance evaluations
• Proficiency with various Microsoft software programs

Pay

The current starting salary for this position is $40,685.00. It will increase to $41,506.00 on July 1, 2026, based on the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
