About the role
Clean rooms, corridors, stairways, and other areas. Perform routine maintenance of equipment. Clean, disinfect, and deodorize toilet facilities. Dust, empty trash, wash walls, windows, blinds, and ceiling fixtures. Move heavy furniture. Perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, strip, and polish using light and heavy duty powered equipment.
- Operate industrial equipment to clean rugs, drapes, etc.
- Perform routine maintenance of equipment.
- Clean and disinfect toilet facilities.
- Dust and empty trash from assigned areas.
- Wash walls, windows, blinds, and ceiling fixtures using ladders, scaffolds, and safety belts.
- Move heavy furniture.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have the ability to follow instructions.
- Must have a basic knowledge of common cleaning solvents, cleaning tools, and equipment.
- Must know the proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Must be able to troubleshoot, make adjustments, and perform minor repair and maintenance of equipment.
- Must be able to work varying shifts to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.

- Must have knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties listed above.
- Must have the ability to use and maintain the tools and equipment of the trade.
- Must keep the assigned work area neat and clean.
- Must communicate both orally and in writing.

Pay
This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
