Responsibilities

  • Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways, and other areas.
  • Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips, and polishes floors using light and heavy-duty powered equipment.
  • Operates industrial equipment to clean rugs, drapes, and other fabrics.
  • Performs routine maintenance of cleaning equipment.
  • Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes toilet facilities.
  • Dusts assigned areas, empties trash, and washes walls, windows, blinds, and ceiling fixtures using ladders, scaffolds, and safety belts.
  • Moves heavy furniture.
  • Troubleshoots, makes adjustments, and performs minor repair and maintenance of equipment.
  • Follows instructions and uses a variety of cleaning and sanitizing solutions safely.

Required standing and walking on hard and carpeted surfaces with frequent bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items or carts weighing 20 to 40 pounds, and occasionally over 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
  • Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for the position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check and pre-employment checks, including a medical examination and Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card.
  • Must be willing and able to work varying shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have basic knowledge of common cleaning solvents, tools, and equipment.
  • Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing.

  • Resumes must clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities for the position.
  • Must have the ability to use and maintain tools and equipment of the trade.
  • Must keep the assigned work area neat and clean.
  • Your resume should be clear, specific, and limited to two pages or less.

This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

Pay

This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. Employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week. Regular full-time, part-time, and flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible for extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
